Saudia Director General Saleh Bin Nasser Al-Jasser said that the company had six new strategies to align with Vision 2030. The first strategy was developing and updating the aircraft fleet, which is now implemented. The company aims to have around 200 new airplanes by 2020, targeting around 45 million passengers per year, and around 1,000 flights everyday, according to Arab News.

Al-Jasser mentioned that in 2016, 29 aircraft were added to the fleet and the goal next year is to add around 30 more airplanes.

Saudia will also phase out several types of aircraft, including Saudias 747 and Embraer plane fleet. By Dec. 1, the last plane from the Embraer fleet will make its last traveling flight from Riyadh to Dammam and after that, the company will not use this type of the aircraft again, the Arab News report said.
