Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Meets with Xi Jinping in Beijing, Tours Great Wall

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman continued his tour of Asian nations with a second day in China, where he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and the two countries inked over $28 billion in deals, according to reports.

In his meeting with President Xi Jinping, the Chinese leader urged joint efforts to counter extremism and terror, while praising Saudi Arabia as a friend.

China is Saudi Arabia’s largest trading partner, and trade between the two nations surged last year by 32 percent last year, according to the Crown Prince as reported in Reuters.

In total, Saudi Arabia signed 35 economic cooperation agreements with China worth a total of $28 billion at a joint investment forum during the visit.

“Saudi Arabia’s relations with China can be traced back a very long time in the past,” Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told President Xi Jinping at their meeting. The Crown Prince also met with the Vice-Premier of China.

The Crown Prince’s MiSK organization conducted a cultural program, entitled “Silk Road,” highlighting the deep Saudi-Chinese relations, on the sidelines of the Saudi-China forum.

Despite the busy schedule, Crown Prince Mohammed also visited the Great Wall of China with his entourage.
