Mohammed Bin Salman Departs U.S. for France, Sends Cable Thanking U.S. and Obama for Hospitality

Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent a cable of thanks to US President Barack Obama on Sunday as he concluded his visit to the United States.

“I am pleased as I am leaving your friendly country after the end of my official visit to extend to Your Excellency my deep thanks for the warm reception and generous hospitality accorded to me and the accompanying delegation,” the Deputy Crown Prince said in his cable, published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). “I would like to commend again the historical and strategic relations between our two countries witnessing further development in all fields, stressing that the discussions held during the visit will contribute to deepening and strengthening these relations and enhancing the bonds of mutual cooperation to achieve the interests of our two countries and their friendly peoples under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and your Excellency.”

“I wish Your Excellency constant good health and happiness, and the friendly people of the United States of America further progress and prosperity.”

The deputy crown prince left the US for France on Sunday.

While in New York, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with Former New York Mayor and businessman Michael Bloomberg. He signed an agreement with Bill Gates, former Microsoft CEO and founder and chairman of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and visited with CEO and Founder of Twitter, Jack Dorsey.

Prince Mohammed also signed a deal with 3M, granting the Minnesota-based company a trading license as part of a long-term strategic partnership with the Saudi government. The deal makes 3M one of only three companies to be granted 100 percent ownership and the ability to operate and invest in Saudi Arabia.
