PHOTOS: The Private Sector in the Middle East Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Organized by the IMF and the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce the Private Sector in the Middle East Conferenceon December 3rd, 2013, brought together noted speakers from the public and private sectors to discuss ways to develop the private sector in the Saudi Arabia and the region.

Discussing the event in SUSRIS, Eng. Omar Bahlaiwa, Secretary General for the Committee for International Trade (CIT), said that the successful event is just the beginning of other conferences to come.

“We achieved a lot in this one…The first achievement was to have it in Saudi Arabia, in the Middle East, as the first of its kind. Second, was to have such an event in cooperation with the IMF and the IFC and the World Bank. The third achievement was to have had such broad interest. We had an audience from 25 countries, speakers from 15 countries, and registrants over 800 right up to the last minute, an achievement for companies in Saudi Arabia.”
