Saudi Export-Import Bank signs MoU with US EXIM to boost trade
The Saudi Export-Import Bank has signed an MoU with the Export-Import Bank of the US, focusing on fostering comprehensive collaboration, strengthening economic ties, and advancing trade relations between the two countries. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 2024 Future Minerals Forum held in Riyadh, from Jan. 9 to 11. The MoU outlines a framework for cooperation, collaboration, and sharing of expertise and resources between the two entities. Through this agreement, Saudi EXIM and US EXIM seek to facilitate trade financing, support exports, and promote investment opportunities in key sectors. The MoU also promotes knowledge and information sharing, capacity building, and the exchange of best practices, ultimately enhancing the competitiveness and growth of businesses in both Saudi Arabia and the US.

International law firms express faith in Saudi legal system
Major international law firms have expressed confidence that companies and investors can receive “fair treatment” in disputes in Saudi Arabia, according to an expert. Speaking to Arab News on the first Riyadh Construction Disputes Seminar, John Quinn, chairman and founding partner at Quinn Emanuel, underscored the dependable rule of law in the Kingdom and its competent judges. The event was organized by Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP to highlight the developments in the Kingdom’s legal system that ensures the protection of the rights of all stakeholders without any bias. “We have confidence that parties can get a fair treatment in disputes in the Kingdom … that just because you’re a foreigner and you have a claim, a dispute with a Saudi, that the court is not going to have a thumb on the scales for the Saudis,” Quinn stated.

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia hold joint military training-Xinhua
A joint military training between the Pakistan Army and Royal Saudi Land Forces kicked off on Sunday in Okara district in Pakistan's eastern Punjab Province, the Pakistani military said. At the inauguration of the training in Okara Garrison organized by the Multan Corps of the Pakistan Army, the contingents of both countries displayed remarkable military drill, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, said in a statement.

Saudi Arabia's foreign minister said the kingdom was "very worried" that tensions in the Red Sea amid attacks by Yemen's Houthis and U.S. strikes on Houthi targets could spiral out of control and escalate the conflict in the region. Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister says the kingdom will not normalize relations with Israel or contribute to Gaza’s reconstruction without a credible pathway to a Palestinian state. Prince Faisal bin Farhan’s remarks in an interview with CNN broadcast late Sunday were some of the most direct yet from Saudi officials. Saudi’s SABIC gives go-ahead for $6.4 bln China petrochemical plant
Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC) (2010.SE), opens new tab will go ahead with building a petrochemical complex in southeastern China's Fujian province, the company said in an exchange filing on Sunday, shoring up Saudi ties with China, the world's top oil importer. The project, expected to cost around $6.4 billion, will be developed in a joint venture with state-owned Fujian Fuhua Gulei Petrochemical. First proposed in 2018, the joint venture marks the latest in a series of tie-ups between Saudi firms and Chinese refiners.
