Saudi King, Crown Prince and Deputy Crown Prince Express Condolences to France’s Hollande after Nice Terror Attacks

Saudi Arabia’s top leadership expressed their condolences for the tragic act of violence in Nice, France on the country’s Bastille Day celebration.

King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent a cable of condolence to the the French leader about the attack.

An official source told SPA the Kingdom strongly condemns the “heinous terrorist act in the French city of Nice” and said that Saudi Arabia stands with the “friendly Republic of France.”

The Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit condemned the terrorist attack and said through a spokesperson: “This tragic and heinous crime comes to reaffirm that terrorism continues to overpass all the red lines by targeting innocent people through brutal and unprecedented acts,” according to Arab News.

The Muslim World League also condemned the violence.

Saudi Arabia and France enjoy warm relations and strong defense and security ties. Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visited France upon returning home from his lengthy visit to the United States.

Last Summer, King Salman vacationed in Vallauris in the south of France, which is only 10 miles from the site of the attack in Nice last night.

Two Americans were reportedly among the 80 dead or injured by the truck as it accelerated through a crowd celebrating France’s most important holiday.
