At C3 US-Arab Business Summit in New York, Experts Discuss Opportunities

On Monday, business and government officials gathered in New York City for the C3 U.S.-Arab Business Summit to discuss opportunities and key issues to the region.

In his Keynote address, UAE Businessman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group, discussed his path to success and how he built his business empire over his career, before fielding questions from the audience at the prestigious Union Club of New York City on Monday.

The C3 US-Arab Business Summit series assembles business and social leaders in the West and Arab world to build, foster and strengthen US-Arab relationships. At last year’s event, former U.S. president Bill Clinton addressed attendees. 

SUSTG’s President Richard Wilson joined the panel on the “Importance of Trade and Commerce’s Role in Strengthening Relationships Between the US and the Arab World.”

Prince Abdulaziz Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received the C3-NCUSAR Global Leadership Award, following a speech by NCUSAR chief John Duke Anthony.

More than 13 topics were covered, according to a press release, “including global policies; advancing entrepreneurs (regardless of gender); trade and commerce (including ports, infrastructure and mega projects); water concerns; the impact of global media; technology; education for employment; best practices regarding intellectual property protection; and the importance of knowledge transfer in the healthcare sectors between the U.S. and Arab World.”

The closing remarks were delivered by Al Jazeera America’s CEO, who discussed how millennials can bridge gaps between the East and West through social media and emotional content.
