Saudi Arabia’s Press Agency (SPA) has featured a number of photos in recent weeks highlighting the advanced capability of the Kingdom’s armed forces, including stills and videos from airstrikes conducted in neighboring Yemen. The SPA and other Saudi media outlets have been touting Saudi Arabia’s military prowess as the conflict against Houthi rebels in Yemen heats up.
“There’s no fog of war here. It’s more like a high-gloss, stage-crafted showcase of Saudi Arabia’s new military swagger,” writes Brian Murphy in the Washington Post. “The optics leave no doubt that Saudi Arabia is in charge.”
