Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in India for the second stop on a three-country tour of Asian nations as the Kingdom looks to boost relationships and trade opportunities in the East.
India “rolled out the red carpet for the crown prince,” Reuters reports, amid simmering tensions with neighboring Pakistan following a militant attack in the disputed region of Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke with government protocol to welcome the crown prince at the airport.
“On the issue of extremism and terrorism, which is a common concern, we want to tell India that we will cooperate in every way, including intelligence sharing,” the crown prince said.
Crown Prince Mohammed, speaking at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Modi in New Delhi, said Saudi Arabia was ready for political cooperation with India.

Saudi Arabia, India’s fourth-largest trade partner, is reportedly expecting investment opportunities worth more than $100 billion in India over the next two years. Sectors of interest for cooperation between the two nations will center around energy, infrastructure, agriculture and manufacturing, according to Reuters.
