Abraham Ancer Takes 2023 PIF International Title at Royal Greens in Saudi Arabia

LIV’s Abraham Ancer won this year’s Saudi International Tournament, played at the Royal Greens Golf Club at KAEC, after holding off the PGA Tour’s Cameron Young to take the 2023 title.

Ancer never ceded his place atop the leaderboard during the tournament and won by two shots over Young, who was granted a release to play. Lucas Herbert, also a player on Tour, finished third at 15 under.

Ancer, 31, shot 64-68 on the weekend at Royal Greens Golf and Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City for his fourth professional win, according to Golf Week.

This year’s Saudi International Tournament, played at the Royal Greens Golf Club at KAEC, featured a mixed field of PGA Tour players granted releases and members of the LIV Golf Tour.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund is LIV’s financial backer, as well as the title sponsor of the Saudi International. The breakaway tour has stirred up headlines in the media and at times emotions from the players as many of the sport’s biggest names jumped over to the startup league.

LIV Golf League makes its 2023 season debut later this month at Mayakoba in Mexico.
