Johnson Controls Arabia (JCA) hosted an export milestone event at its YORK Manufacturing Complex at the King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) to mark the company’s latest export achievement of more than 300 Saudi-made YORK Scroll Chillers to the American market during this year, with a total market value of 100 million Riyals in the initial phase, the company said in a press release.
The event also included the signing of an MoU between Johnson Controls Arabia and the Saudi Export Development Authority. This agreement aims to establish a strategic account for JCA, enhancing Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports capable of competing on a global scale, in line with Vision 2030.
The keynote address at the event by Dr. Mohanad AlShaikh, the Company’s CEO, underscored the company’s dedication to innovation, sustainability, and supporting the local content, exports of Saudi-made products as part of Saudi Vision 2030.
“This milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to advancing local content and the Saudi-made initiative, which are integral to the Kingdom’s economic diversification efforts. By exporting products made in Saudi to the US market and 26 other global markets, we are not only contributing to the growth of our economy but also showcasing the quality and innovation of our Saudi products on a global stage,” stated Dr. Mohanad AlShaikh, Johnson Controls Arabia’s CEO.
Commending the long-standing bilateral trade relations between KSA and the US, AlShaikh added, “We are proud to announce the export of 300 YORK Scroll Chillers to the United States from our facilities in the Kingdom. This achievement demonstrates the quality of our leading-edge HVAC products and technology, meeting even the strictest American and European standards. At JCA, we have a vision and a strong commitment to the Saudi Market, where we focus on reinforcing localization and boosting job creation to support the economy while giving back to the community.”
Johnson Controls Arabia has made significant strides in local manufacturing, with 80% of its sales comes from locally manufactured products, AlShaikh said.
The company’s exports have grown to account for over 30% of its total production, demonstrating its commitment to global expansion and market diversification, the company said.
