Faculty and researchers from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and King Abdullah Petroleum Studies & Research Center (KAPSARC) have unveiled a new publication: “The Clean Hydrogen Economy and Saudi Arabia.”
As part of its goal to lower carbon emissions and achieve 50% of the country’s electricity come from renewable energy sources by 2030, which would require 130 gigawatts of renewable energy, Saudi Arabia continues to push forward in the hydrogen sector (which is considered renewable if it’s produced using electricity from renewable sources, like wind or solar).
“The Clean Hydrogen Economy and Saudi Arabia” analyzes both the developments in the clean hydrogen market and highlights the critical role of technology and research institutions in advancing the hydrogen economy.
“We are pleased to support the U.S.-Saudi collaboration on the Trade Talk series, and we are excited the second iteration will focus on hydrogen technologies, which play a vital role in the sustainable energy transition. Today’s discussions showcase innovative, industry-leading firms such as Air Products Qudra, Cummins, ExxonMobil, and Honeywell, highlighting their contributions to a greener future.”
