AMEinfo, based in Dubai’s Media City, is a well-known provider of business news and information covering the Gulf and larger Middle East. Founded in 1993 it was acquired by London-based Emap Communications in July 2006. Emap also owns MEED. The AME info site now claims over two million readers monthly.
In October 2012, AMEinfo ran a series of “Guide to Doing Business in Saudi Arabia” articles that addressed different aspects of the Saudi commercial environment and matters related to setting up a business in Saudi Arabia. The series included discussions of Saudization, government structure, employment law, Sharia, setting up a business and dissolving a company.
SUSTG thought it was an interesting and worthwhile series and will link to each article over the next two weeks. Today, we feature the initial post, “A guide to setting up a business in Saudi Arabia,” written by Hazem Midani, a director of Jumana House, a Riyadh-based specialist in company regulation, foreign investment and business formation.
