Bechtel Saudi Arabia has named company veteran Abdul-Rahman Al-Ghabban as new Infrastructure Vice President in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the company confirmed to SUSTG in a press release.
Al-Ghabban was formerly country manager for Bechtel in Saudi Arabia before leading the company’s marketing and business development for its manufacturing and technology team. He returns to Saudi Arabia as Bechtel celebrates its 80th year in the country, working on some of the most ambitious and exciting mega projects in the world like NEOM.
Bechtel is also delivering an innovative new transport system for Riyadh in the forthcoming Riyadh Metro project.
“After a fantastic period working in two global business units and experiencing a corporate role in the US, I feel very excited to go back and re-join the infrastructure leadership team in my native country, Saudi Arabia. The knowledge I have accumulated working abroad will be a tremendously valuable asset for our business and I feel well prepared to help Bechtel make smart wins, deliver on projects, and support operations across the Kingdom,” Al-Ghabban said.
“The Saudi economy is experiencing significant growth in practically every sector right now and there is real competition for talent. I believe attracting, developing, and empowering the right individuals is the most difficult challenge we face but it also provides an excellent opportunity to have tangible lasting impact by creating the next generation of Saudi professionals,” he added.
“As a company we have numerous great prospects in the pipeline and of course our fantastic projects in Jubail, RMP and NEOM. Every Bechtel employee working in Saudi has contributed to our strong reputation there and I’m truly amazed by what our people achieve every day. I look forward to joining colleagues on projects, in business development and other business units and to continue building on our impressive eighty-year legacy in the Kingdom,” Al-Ghabban added.
