A bomb ripped through a Shia mosque in Najran City in Saudi Arabia yesterday, killing one and injuring at least 16 people in the latest in a spate of murderous attacks across Saudi Arabia in the last year.
Daesh has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing at theĀ al-Mashhad mosque.
Saudi Authorities have named a suspect. According to Reuters, police found a letter by the bomber addressed to his parents confirming his intention of carrying out the attack, according to an interior ministry statement.
Najran city is in Najran province in Saudi Arabia. The mosque is located less than 30 miles from Saudi Arabia’s border with Yemen, where a coalition of forces – led by Saudi Arabia – has been fighting to restore the internationally recognized Hadi government.
The governor of Najran province later visited the wounded in the hospital.
