Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on U.S.-Saudi Relations: ‘We consider ourselves to be the main ally for the U.S. in the Middle East’

Deputy crown prince Mohammed bin Salman described the U.S.-Saudi relationship as “huge” and reiterated that Saudi Arabia was the main ally for the United States in the Middle East in a recent interview.

“Our partnership with the U.S. is huge. Oil is only a small part of it. Oil was just the beginning for us,” the Deputy Crown Prince said in an interview with Bloomberg last week.

The deputy crown prince also said that Saudi Arabia was the main ally for the United States in the Middle East, and that America is the “number one country in the world.”

“America is the policeman of the world, not just the Middle East. It is the number one country in the world and we consider ourselves to be the main ally for the U.S. in the Middle East and we see America as our ally as well.”

Bloomberg asked Prince Mohammed bin Salman to comment on the rise of Donald Trump in the GOP primary in the United States. The deputy crown prince said he would not comment on U.S. elections because he is a Saudi.

“We don’t interfere in the elections of any other country and as a Saudi, I don’t think that I have the right to comment on U.S. elections,” the prince said.
