Google’s executive chairman Eric Schmidt will speak at the upcoming Global Competitiveness Forum (GCF) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to the Forum’s website. The technology billionaire headlines a long list of high-level speakers set to descend on Riyadh to discuss investment and development in the region and beyond.
Schmidt joined Google in 2001 and served as CEO for 10 years. He is the is author of The New Digital Age and How Google Works, and serves on the boards of the Economist Group, the Mayo Clinic, and Khan Academy.
Also set to speak at the GCF is Peter Orszag from Citigroup, Dr. Pete Worden from NASA, and a host of high-level Saudi officials including Deputy Crown Prince Muqrin, Saudi Minister of Education Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Aramco’s President Dr. Khaild Al Falih, KACST President Dr. Mohammed Al Suwayel, Minster of Labor Adel Al Faqeeh, Governor of the Riyadh Province Prince Turki Bin Abdullah, Commerce Minister Dr. Tawfiq Alrabiah, and many more.
Founded in 2006 by SAGIA, GCF is an annual meeting of global business leaders, international political leaders, and selected intellectuals and journalists brought together to create a dialogue with respect to the positive impact organizational and national competitiveness can have on local, regional and global economic and social development, according to the event’s website.
