Saudi Arabia’s top leaders have responded with unequivocal condemnation of the attacks and expressed condolences to French leaders in the aftermath of the Daesh-orchestrated seige of Paris on Friday.
“We learned about the pain and the sadness of the terrorist attacks in Paris… We express our condemnation for this repugnant terrorist act and offer our condolences to your excellency, the French people and the families of the victims,” SPA quoted King Salman as saying in a cable to France’s President.
Such attacks are “unaccepted by any religion and international norms,” the cable said.
Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, also through the official SPA, said “with grief and sadness, I received the news of terrorist attacks in the city of Paris. I express my condemnation of these criminal acts which are condemned by all divine religions and international norms and conventions. I also offer condolences to your Excellency, the friendly people of France and the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.”
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Adel Al-Jubeir, said the attacks were “a violation of all religions.”
“I wanted to express our condolences to the government and people of France for the heinous terrorist attacks that took place yesterday which are in violation and contravention of all ethics, morals and religions,” Adel al-Jubeir told reporters in Vienna.
“The kingdom of Saudi Arabia has long called for more intensified international efforts to combat the scourge of terrorism in all its forms and shapes,” he said.
