List of World’s Top Golfers Competing at Third Saudi International Grows as Kevin Na Commits

The field of competitors for next month’s Saudi International powered by Softbank Investment Advisers is growing as another top golfer in the world has joined some of the sports biggest names confirmed to compete in Saudi Arabia.

Five-time PGA Tour winner Kevin Na, who won the PGA Tour’s Sony Open in Hawaii on Sunday, is the latest US star to enter the 2021 Saudi International at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club from Feb. 4-7.

In December, Norwegian youngster Viktor Hovland and American Ryder Cup star Tony Finau confirmed their entry for the third edition of the Saudi International. Hovland secured a win at the OHL Classic held in December at the El Camaleon Golf Club, and is one of the sport’s young rising stars. Finau is one of the more recognizable names in the sport, having been in contention in the final round at last year’s Master’s tournament in Augusta, Georgia with Tiger Woods. Patrick Reed and Phil Mickleson are also confirmed to compete.

Kevin Na is making his first trip to Saudi Arabia, having played only a handful of European Tour events over the past decade, with his last appearance in 2015, according to Arab News.

“The more I heard about the player field for the Saudi International powered by Softbank Investment Advisers, the more I felt like I didn’t want to miss out,” Na said. “The depth and strength of the field in Saudi is what really appealed to me. I haven’t played in many European Tour events in recent years so I am really looking forward to getting back out there and visiting Saudi Arabia for the first time.”

The competitors are joining two of the top golfers in the sport right now, Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau, who confirmed their participation in October.

The growing list of confirmations from the sport’s top names makes the third edition of the Saudi International the strongest field gathered in the Kingdom to date, with a large amount of world-ranking points available.

The tournament, held at the seaside King Abdullah Economic City at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club, is part of the European Tour.

In November, Saudi Arabia’s inaugural golf tournament for women wrapped up with a thrilling, come-from-behind win by Denmark’s Emily Kristine Pedersen, who sealed her victory in a playoff hole after trailing the then-leader Georgia Hall by three strokes at Royal Greens.
