NEOM has released a video showing what New York City and the island of Manhattan might look like if it were to be designed in the same concept as The Line, the Kingdom’s planned ultra-futuristic new city.
The Line, a 170 km vertical city that can be travelled end to end in 20 minutes. It is part of the $500 billion NEOM project.
“Imagine taking a traditional city and consolidating its footprint to the bare minimum, while enhancing nature and quality of life,” NEOM said of the concept, available to watch on its YouTube channel.
“Watch Manhattan reimagined into a vertical city, akin to THE LINE – which will leverage cutting-edge architecture and engineering to be home to approximately the same population of New York City, with a footprint of just 34km2.”
