The Ministry of Education and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) agreed to provide 5,000 Saudi students with scholarships and jobs in the insurance and financial sectors, according to reports, the latest move by the government to boost education for Saudi Arabia’s surging youth population.
The move by SAMA will both grant scholarships to Saudi students “based on market needs” and then employ them when they return home after completing their courses, according to Arab News.
“The agreement was signed by SAMA Gov. Fahd Al-Mubarak at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh as part of the third phase of the program of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarships. It will begin receiving applications on Ramadan 10 (June 27) through the ministry’s website,” Arab News said.
As the SACM job fair came to a close in Washington, D.C. over the holiday weekend, thousands of graduating Saudi students prepared to return to Saudi Arabia to begin working or continue searching for jobs in their specialty.
