Experts discuss ways to protect Saudi Arabia’s heritage
Jasir Al-Herbish, CEO of the Saudi Heritage Commission, met recently with hobbyists and amateurs involved in the Kingdom’s heritage. The virtual meeting was attended by 160 people from across the Kingdom and the national heritage directors of the Kingdom’s regions. Saudi energy think tank develops oil shock analysis model
A Saudi energy think tank has devised an analytical model which examines how oil price shocks affect individual countries. The King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) developed the tool which covers 36 countries and incorporates oil industry data going all the way back to 1979. It comes amid fierce volatility across energy markets this year as oil demand is buffeted by the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Oil drops on higher inventories, weak U.S. stock markets
Oil prices fell further on Friday and were on track for a second weekly drop after U.S. stock markets tumbled and U.S. stockpiles rose unexpectedly. Brent fell 28 cents, or 0.7%, at $30.78 a barrel by 1210 GMT, and U.S. crude was down 17 cents, or 0.5%, to $37.13 a barrel.

A Saudi-led coalition, which has been at war with the Iran-aligned group since 2015, did not confirm an attack on Riyadh, but said it had intercepted and destroyed a number of ballistic missiles and explosive drones launched towards the kingdom on Thursday.

Saudi-led coalition says intercepted missiles, drones headed towards kingdom
A Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen said it had intercepted and destroyed a number of ballistic missiles and explosive drones launched towards the kingdom on Thursday. In a statement published on Saudi state news agency SPA, a spokesman for the coalition said the Iran-aligned Houthi group in Yemen had launched the objects at civilian targets in Saudi Arabia, without giving more details.

Judge orders testimony from Saudi officials in suit over involvement in 9/11 attacks
On the eve of the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, a federal judge directed the Saudi Arabian government to make as many as 24 current and former officials available for depositions about their possible knowledge of events leading up to the airplane attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, which killed almost 3,000 Americans. Those officials include Prince Bandar, the former ambassador to the United States, and his longtime chief of staff.

Saudi Arabia's state grain buyer SAGO is seeking 715,000 tonnes of wheat in an international tender, the Saudi state news agency SPA said on Thursday. The wheat is for delivery in periods between November and January, the statement said.
