Saudi Arabia: youth labor unemployment rate by gender 2019
The youth unemployment rate in Saudi Arabia in the fourth quarter of 2019 was 57.8 percent and 17.3 percent for females and males respectively. The decrease in unemployment rates was higher for females than males over the years due to the efforts by the government to empower young Saudi women. However, unemployment for females remained significantly higher than male unemployment.

Libya’s Capital Under 24-Hour Curfew as Youth-Led Protests Mount
Libya’s internationally recognized government on Wednesday imposed a round-the-clock curfew on the capital for four days, as youth-led anti-corruption protests escalate in the war-ravaged OPEC nation. The curfew will be eased to 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for 10 days after the initial four day period has elapsed, the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord said on its Facebook page. A 24-hour curfew will remain in place on Fridays and Saturdays, the statement said. It suggested the move was linked to broader efforts to combat the spread of coronavirus.

The highest percentage of young male workers was within the age group between 30 to 34 years at about 39 percent, and young female workers at about 43.6 percent. The youth population between the age of 15 to 34 was the highest in Saudi Arabia in 2020 among all age groups.
