Saudi Arabia's non-hydrocarbon sector has maintained optimism level in first quarter of 2015 compared to the last quarter as well as last year, a new survey has said. According to Dun & Bradstreet South Asia Middle East Ltd (D&B) survey for Saudi Arabia, the hydrocarbon sector composite Business Optimism Index (BOI) is weighed down sharply by weaker expectations for prices and profitability; at 16 points, the index has shed 18 points from last quarter and is 34 points lower compared to last year.

Markets in Saudi Arabia, Egypt pull back
Saudi Arabia's stock market dipped in early trade on Monday as some investors booked profits in stocks that had led recent gains, while Egypt fell in a broad pull-back. Brent crude dropped 0.9 percent by 0845 GMT after surging at the end of last week, with an oversupply continuing to weigh on the market despite data showing Japan had pulled out of recession.
