Saudi Arabia tire sales double UAE and Egypt combined
Motorists in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia bought 3.86 million tyres in the first half of 2014, compared to 1.32 million in the United Arab Emirates and 0.52 million in Egypt. This is according to latest figures released by GfK from their continuous tracking of passenger car, 4x4 and light truck tyres sales.

Saudi Agriculture expo attracts 25,000 visitors
Saudi Agriculture 2014, the 33rd international agriculture, water and agro-industry trade show which was inaugurated by Agriculture Minister Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Balghunaim at Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center here, concluded on Wednesday with exhibitors and visitors applauding the largest agro-food expo of the Middle east. Around 400 companies and individual exhibitors from 40 countries participated in the premier agriculture expo, which started on Sunday and recorded more than 25,000 visitors during the four-day show.

U.S. lawmakers move toward arming Syrian rebels, with conditions
The U.S. House of Representatives will begin debating legislation on Tuesday to give President Barack Obama approval for arming and training rebels who oppose both Islamic State militants and Syria's government. Without Twitter, the Islamic State might not have been able to grow to 10,000 fighters last spring (the size of IS is currently estimated at 30,000) but the phenomenon was self-perpetuating. Many of the jihadists who became part of the Islamic State through Twitter went right back to work tweeting on behalf of IS upon their acceptance. Final stage of leaving an Army base in Afghanistan
