Senate Committee Approves Islamic State AUMF
Senate Foreign Relations Committee Democrats on Thursday sent a measure to the floor authorizing military operations in Iraq and Syria against the Islamic State. In a straight party line vote, 10-8, the committee approved an authorization of the use of military force (AUMF) crafted by its outgoing chairman, Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J.
