Saudi Arabia has allocated $7.8 billion worth of investments for Expo 2030, state news agency SPA reported early on Wednesday, as the Kingdom pitches for the opportunity to host the global event.
The figure was announced by HE Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Investment for Saudi Arabia.
“I highlighted the Kingdom’s investment of $7.8 billion in the Expo and the opportunities and enriched experience available to international companies,” Saudi investment minister Khalid al-Falih said, as Riyadh made its bid for hosting the coming issue of Expo 2030.
The most recent Expo was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Rome, the Saudi capital Riyadh, and South Korea’s second-biggest city Busan presented their bids at a key meeting Tuesday of the Paris-based International Bureau of Exhibitions. A vote among member countries is expected in November.
