Saudi Arabia and its citizens and residents came out for football-themed festivities including fireworks and drone shows that will run through December 14.
Fireworks illuminated the skies of Riyadh, Jeddah, Alkhobar, Abha, NEOM, Al-Qassim, and Jubail soon after FIFA’s official announcement from an online ceremony that was broadcast at a Riyadh event attended by Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal and other officials.
In Riyadh celebrations included events at multiple venues, including the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), Riyadh Boulevard, the historic Al-Bujairi district in Diriyah, the Green Halls at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex, ROSHN Front, and Laysen Valley.
In the Eastern Region festivities included live performances, interactive activities, aquatic and aerial displays, folkloric music bands, and sand sculptures showcased across numerous corniches, parks, and beaches in various cities.

Historic Jeddah Celebrates Saudi Arabia’s Winning Bid to Host FIFA World Cup 2034™
On the occasion of the winning FIFA World Cup 2034 bid, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman announced the establishment of the “Supreme Commission for Hosting the 2034 World Cup.”
The Crown Prince will be the chairman of the Board of Directors of the commission. Members include Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal; Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif; Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah; Minister of State and Member of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs Mohammed Al-Sheikh; Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majid Al-Hogail; Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan; Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha; Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi; Minister of Transport and Logistics Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser; Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb; Minister of Health Eng. Fahd Al-Jalajel; Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Development Bodies Support Center Eng.
