The new figures represent the highest single-day increase in the kingdom. The figures were announced by the Ministry of Health during a press briefing.
Saudi Arabia has taken significant measures to stop the spread of COVID-19, including enacting a curfew, prohibiting citizens and residents from being outside the home at night for three weeks. The curfew is enforced from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. for the next 21 days.
The ministry of the interior said that the first day of the curfew “witnessed a remarkable compliance by residents,” Gulf News reports.
