Military personnel from Saudi Arabia were photographed by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) training in remote mountain terrain as the battle against the Houthi rebels in Yemen continues.
Victory has remained elusive for the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen, but steady gains on the back of coalition airstrikes have turned the tide in the war against the Houthis. Both sides have yet find a consensus on a solution to the crisis.
The recent sale of $1.29 billion in U.S. “smart” bombs to Saudi Arabia will allow for “greater precision” in air strikes on militia targets, the official spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition told AlArabiya on Tuesday.
The United Nations on Wednesday said 5,700 people have been killed in the conflict in Yemen since March 26, including 830 women and children.
Also on Thursday, three Americans were flown out of Yemen’s capital, Sanaa on an Omani air force flight late on Wednesday.
