Saudi Youth, in Numbers: Kingdom’s Government Releases Data for International Youth Day 2020

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Statistics released a new report on Saudi youth with fresh data on the Kingdom’s large young generation entitled Saudi Youth in Numbers.

The report was published ahead of International Youth Day 2020, which takes place Wednesday, August 13th.

This report identifies numbers and indicators about Saudi youth aged 15-34. Together with children younger than 15, that segment makes up 67% of the population, the report said.

30.3% of all Saudis are aged 0-14, 36.7% are between ages 15-34, and 33% of the population is age 35 and over.

51% of Saudis aged 15-34 are men, and 49% are women. The study found that a majority of this group 66.23% are unmarried.

The study also looks at areas like sports, health and fitness, education levels, economic situation, telecommunications, and even the Covid-19 pandemic.

The study noted that as of 2019, 1.49m workers in the labor force were Saudis between 15-34, but that men make up nearly 70% of that figure. Increasing female employment and participation in the workforce has been a key goal of Vision 2030.
