Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital city, is a rapidly growing metropolis – one that has benefitted greatly from soaring governmental spending on infrastructure and development.
While in Riyadh last month, SUSTG created an HD time lapse video from the roof of the Council of Saudi Chambers building, looking down King Fahd road toward Riyadh’s iconic Kingdom Tower. The video is compressed from thousands of high resolution photographs, taken every three seconds for 4 hours – right during Riyadh’s highest traffic volumes in the evening rush hour.
From the top of the CSC building, one can see most of Riyadh – the expansive city has many low to medium rise buildings and only a few iconic skyscrapers. It is a city that has developed outward more than vertically.
Here’s a shorter look at the video (15 seconds) from our instagram account. Follow us for more cool photos and videos from Saudi Arabia.
