We recently recommended the Brookings Institution’s innovative study of foreign students in America (Brookings’ Gold: Interactive Data On Foreign Students In U.S. Higher Education). By mining visa data the study discovered a number of fascinating trends with regard to American higher education. Recognizing this commodity as a major service export, Neil Ruiz, the study’s author, applauded those U.S. host cities that were capitalizing on the growth of foreign students coming to the United States.
