U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum Opens in Washington, D.C. with Panel of Ministers and High-Level Government Officials

The U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum opened today in Washington, D.C. with a panel of high level ministers and officials to discuss the investment climate in Saudi Arabia. 

The event opened with a keynote by Abdullatif al-Othman, Governor and Chairman of the Saudi Arabia General Investment Authority (SAGIA), the primary organizer of the event alongside the Council of Saudi Chambers and the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council.

H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Al Assaf, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Finance, H.E. Dr. Tawfig Al Rabiah, Minister of Commerce and Industry, H.E. Khalid Al Falih, Minister of Health along with Al-Othman discussed the opportunities and climate for investors in Saudi Arabia.

Minister Alrabiah noted that there are 500 joint projects between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia valued at $21 billion.

The discussion was moderated by John Hamre, President and CEO of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

Other panels today include discussions on the financial services sector in Saudi Arabia, downstream and petrochemicals, expanding Saudi Arabia’s industrial base, and more.

The Forum was timed with the visit of King Salman to Washington, D.C.
